How a chemical anchor bolt works

Posted on July 15th, by Switzerlock in News. Comments Off

To see how a chemical anchor bolt works, we made a deep hole in a plexiglass bar wherein we introduced a chemical glass ampule supplied by Fischer company. Then, we introduced a threaded rod and screwed it with an electric drill.

The video shows how the glass ampule breaks and how the chemicals are mixed by the threaded rod.

By using this anchoring method with a concrete medium, each threaded rod is capable of withstanding an ultimate tensile load of 2 tons, so it takes 8 tons to tear a safe fixed with 4 threaded rods.

This is the solution selected by Stefanidis Group for fixing Switzerlock safes in a concrete wall/column or slab.
